Privacy Policy

Persisto.fit is operated by Matthys Johannes Benson, trading as MJB Strategic, based in the Republic of South Africa ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information Persisto.fit collects, why, and what rights you have over it. It applies to everyone who uses the Persisto.fit website or app, wherever in the world you are.

We aim to write this in plain language. If anything is unclear, contact us at thys@mjbstrategic.com and we will explain it properly.

What we collect

When you create an account and use Persisto.fit, we collect:

• Account information: your email address, and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile details Google shares with us (name and email).
• The training data you enter: your session types, exercises, sets, reps, weights, distances, routines, weight logs, and any goals or targets you set. This is the core of what the app does, and it is entirely data you choose to enter.
• Basic technical data: standard server logs kept by our hosting providers (for example, an IP address and timestamp against a request), used only to keep the service secure and running, never to build an advertising profile of you.

We do not run advertising, and we do not use third-party analytics or tracking tools at this time. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first.

Why we collect it

• To create and secure your account, and let you sign in.
• To store and show you your own training data, which is the entire purpose of the app.
• To operate, maintain and improve Persisto.fit, including diagnosing technical problems.
• To bill your subscription, once Persisto.fit is available to buy, via the app store's own billing system.
• To respond when you contact us for support.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run Persisto.fit, and share only what each needs to do its job:

• Supabase, our database and authentication provider, which stores your account and training data on servers located in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).
• Vercel, our hosting provider, which serves the website and app.
• Google, if you choose to sign in with a Google account.
• The app store you download Persisto.fit from, to process your subscription payment once it's available to buy.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share your training data with anyone else. Each provider is contractually restricted to using your data only to provide their service to us.

Where your data is stored

Your account and training data are stored with Supabase in the European Union. Some providers we rely on (Vercel and Google) may process data in other countries as part of how their infrastructure works; where that happens, it is covered by those providers' own data protection safeguards.

How we protect it

All connections to Persisto.fit are encrypted (HTTPS). Inside the database, every account's data is walled off by row-level security rules, so one account can never read or change another account's training data, even in the event of an application bug.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account (see our account deletion page), we permanently delete your account and training data, other than what we are required to keep for a short period to satisfy tax, billing or fraud-prevention obligations.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us at any time to:

• See a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is wrong.
• Delete your account and data.
• Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your data.

If you are in South Africa, these rights are given to you under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and you may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa. If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom, similar rights are given to you under the GDPR or UK GDPR, and you may complain to your local data protection authority. Cookies

Persisto.fit uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in securely. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Children

Persisto.fit is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know directly.
